A Letter From Sally

Allowing the sacred to unfold in our lives opens us to phenomenal possibilities and often unites us with kindred souls. With love, learning, understanding and knowledge, each of our paths winds forward, sometimes intertwining with others, sometimes separating to take a new direction.  Over the coming months, we will say goodbye to Lauren Peterson and welcome new team members into the company.

Lauren PetersonLauren joined Blue Lapis Light in 2010 and soon became an intrinsic part of the organization and its expanding vision. Fueled by her own creative insights and shaped by her organizational skills and talents, Lauren implemented changes in all aspects of running and growing our company.

Working closely with her over these last years, we have been blessed with her integrity, passion, determination and dedication and continue to be amazed by her astounding abilities. Her expertise is like a tree with many branches: grant writing, studio building coordination, web content, graphic design, marketing, volunteer coordination, overseeing budgets and fundraising operations, board communications and managing our community programs.

Lauren, we wish you Great Happiness, Compassion, Beauty and Love Always. Thank you for your inspiration, your collaboration, your friendship and support.

Looking forward, we’re restructuring the company and opening our doors to new leadership positions:

  • The new Managing Director (MD) will act as a central hub of company operations, establishing and delivering on operational and fiscal goals related to programs, performances and events. They will co-lead the company hand-in-hand with the Artistic Director, manage a small part-time staff and report directly to the Board of Directors.

  • The new Marketing & Communications Manager (MCM) will be responsible for developing the company’s brand identity, charting its communications strategy and amplifying visibility in the community.  They will report to the ED and work closely with the Head of School, Development Director and Artistic Director to fill classes, pack audiences and open hearts.

If you are interested in and qualified to fill any of these positions or know of excellent candidates, please direct them to us.

With Gratitude,

Sally Jacques
Artistic Director
